SHORT FICTION / 15 / IN DEVELOPMENT
"On Dalby mountain the old Manx people used to put their ears to the earth at ‘Sheean ny Feaynid’ (the Sounds of Infinity), to hear sounds which were like murmurs. They thought these sounds came from beings in space; for in their belief all space is filled with invisible beings." William Cashen, 1912
In a small village on an island, the veil between the two worlds is beginning to thin. A young girl is haunted by a strange otherworldly sound coming from a mountain that no one else seems to be hearing. After a tricksy spirit possesses her hand-puppet, she is lead to a dreamlike journey to find out the source of the mysterious sounds.
A surreal children's film, and a fairytale for grownups, with hand-made SFX magic, puppetry and otherworldly landscapes.
Inspired by Isle of Man's rich folklore, and the strange events of the Dalby Spook which took place in the mid-1930’s on the island, caused by a supposed talking spirit.
